Why most sites fence first
Temporary fencing is usually the first thing that goes up and the last thing to come down. It keeps unauthorized people and kids out of an active hazard, protects your tools and materials from theft, and signals a controlled work zone to the public. On many jobs it’s also a permit and insurance condition — worth confirming with your local building department before mobilization.
Panel vs. driven-post: picking the right fence
Free-standing panel fencing sits in weighted bases, installs fast, and moves easily as the site changes — ideal for shorter projects and hard surfaces like pavement. Driven-post (in-ground) fencing is more rigid and secure for longer builds and looser ground, but needs diggable soil and more setup time. Tell us the project length and surface and we’ll steer you to the right system.
Measuring your perimeter
To size a job, walk the boundary and estimate the total linear footage, then mark where you need gates — one wide enough for vehicle and equipment access, plus pedestrian points. A rough sketch with approximate lengths is enough to start; exact footage gets confirmed before anything is finalized.
Privacy screen, wind, and dust
Windscreen adds privacy, hides staging areas, and cuts blowing dust and debris — but it also turns your fence into a sail. In exposed or high-wind locations that means more bracing and heavier bases, which we plan for up front. Screen also doubles as a branding surface if you want your company name on the perimeter.
